Calvin L. Smith was appointed on Monday, October 30, 2023, by the Mt. San Jacinto College Board of Trustees to fill the Trustee Area 2 vacancy. Trustee Area 2, which takes in San Jacinto, Hemet, and surrounding communities, is one of five trustee areas for Mt. San Jacinto College. Trustee Smith resides in San Jacinto.

MSJC hosted a series of events in honor of Latinx Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15, 2023.

The week will offer workshops, trade fairs and recruitment events for anyone interested in earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship programs that train participants for good-paying careers.
