MSJC Maintenance and Operations

Facilities Planning & Management Departments role is to oversee the colleges improvements to ensure compliance with the Campus Master Plan.  We also manage advance planning for programming of Capital Projects and assist in space management. We assist in the preparation of budgets for short and long term planning of Capital Projects.

Other responsibilities include compliance to and updating the Campus Design Guidelines, providing guidance concerning circulation, landscaping, signage and all other site planning related issues.  We work with the Chancellor's Office and other Divisions of the college. A coordinated effort is achieved resulting in a uniform design of the campus.

Mt. San Jacinto College currently serves nearly 20,000 students a year district-wide. Its Facilities Master Plan will guide the district as it develops facilities to serve its growing communities into the future. The Facilities Master Plan is based on the Educational Master Plan and considers the future educational needs of students, state funding cycles and incorporates sustainability to preserve the environment and provide for the efficient use of available resources.

The Facilities Master Plan, which received a statewide architectural award, projects the needs to accommodate student population growth by the year 2050. It is a “live” document that can change in response to new trends or circumstances.
