The Enrollment Services office initiates the process of verifying enrollment, receiving credit by examination, ordering transcripts and petitioning to enter a class after it begins. Your student academic records, list of courses taken, number of units attempted and earned, grades, grade points, graduation date and other data is also maintained in this office.

The Counseling Department is your key for success, providing you with academic, career, transfer, personal and crisis counseling. Every student should meet with a counselor before registering. Meeting with a counselor gives you the opportunity to not only get your questions answered, but develop an educational plan that meets your specific needs and goals.

Do you have a quick question? 15-minute sessions are available to answer quick questions. Students can receive help without the need to schedule an appointment, please see our list of services below to help you decide if you can get assistance by using our Virtual Lobby or drop-in to any counseling department location during office hours (availability and wait time are based on counselor coverage). Please contact the Counseling Department if you have any questions.
High School (Concurrent and Dual Enrollment) students, no need to enter the lobby. Your high school counselor will be able to connect you with a MSJC K-12 Counselor.

Virtual Lobby meetings are limited to 15 minutes in order to serve as many students as possible. Counseling services available in this lobby are:
- First Semester Educational Plans
- Declare a major
- Assistance with student petitions
- Verify you are ready to graduate
- Questions that require brief answers
- Referrals to other programs and/or services
- Clear a prerequisite
- you must have transcripts submitted or ready to share
- or have AP or IB credits ready to share with your counselor

The Accommodation Service Center assists students with disabilities in gaining maximum access to college curriculum and programs. MSJC’s Puente Project provides an academic, counseling, and leadership program that begins every fall and runs through the spring semester. The program is offered to all MSJC students and will prepare you for the university environment through visits to university and college campuses and a multicultural curriculum emphasizing Mexican-American/Latino experiences and literature.
The Transfer Center provides strong and comprehensive services for students to achieve their educational life goals. The Transfer Center team provides articulation information and quality professional services that are responsive to your individual needs for transfer.

The Umoja community at MSJC s dedicated to its students and providing them with a "family" environment where individuals support and encourage one-another. Those within Umoja will learn and understand the progress made by our ancestors and strive to be as strong and courageous as they were.
The Umoja Scholars program is designed to increase community, recognition, retention, certificate completion, degree completion and transfer rates of African-American and other historically underrepresented students. Umoja students are provided with designated counselors to assist with career, educational and personal counseling, designated Umoja courses, access to tutors, opportunities to attend college tours at the 4-year institutions, and opportunities to attend Umoja sponsored events and conferences.
